The Guest Bathroom
Happy Monday! Welcome back to the As Is Home Tour. Today, I am sharing our guest bathroom that we built in our basement last summer.
The plumbing was roughed-in in a strange way, so we thought long and hard to make it work best. Here is what we ended up with:
You can see the toilet just past the shower there, and then the edge of the sink counter is sticking out on the right side.
I used Ralph Lauren River Rock paint on the walls. River Rock paint is my absolute favorite finish for bathroom walls. The stripes were inspired by the goofy soffit over the toilet. We needed to make the space seem taller, so vertical stripes it was.
Next we have the counter. Oie, I need to clean that mirror =) Ok, all the mirrors. Windex would have to be my least favorite cleaning supply of all time.
The bathroom has two entrances: one from the large family room and one from the guest room. This might be my smartest idea yet. When we have guests visiting they can shut off the family room and have a private space. When we don't have guests, we have easy access to a bathroom.
This room is my favorite room in the house to look at. I'm sure it's strange to think a bathroom is so pretty, but it is to me!
Update: Rumor has it Home Depot is discontinuing Ralph Lauren paint =( Sad.
