The Master Bath

If I had to admit to one thing that really sold us on our house, it would be the master bathroom.  In our price range, most of the homes were very similar, with little to differentiate one from another.  Our house, with its master bath, was the exception.  The huge garden tub and separate shower were big selling points for us.

The master bath was the first thing I decorated in our house too.  Silly, I know, but I needed to something wild, and this room seemed like a reasonable place.  The contractor beige everywhere was slowly boring me to death.  So, with a can of true orange paint I went to work:

Yeah, its real orange.  It makes me smile, and it helps my eyes open in the morning (which is a challenging task).  Yes, the bathroom could/should be a calming retreat, but that's not really what I was looking for.  Admittedly, if we ever put our house on the market, this will be the first thing I repaint before the realtor takes pictures.  Until then, though, I am loving it!

If you find it strange we started in the bathroom and not the bedroom, well, you're probably right.  Don't worry though, tomorrow we'll check out the master bedroom.  See you there!
